What Information Does the Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry Collect?
The Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry collects various types of information depending upon how you use the Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry area on the WeddingChannel.com site. We gather this information through registry creation, orders, email requests, responses to surveys, sweepstakes/contest entries or other solicitations.

On the registry gift list printed from the kiosks in Macy’s stores, the following information is displayed: your names, the date of your event, the shipping address for gifts (including the name given for that address) and the items on your registry which are available for purchase.

  • When you order from the Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry on the WeddingChannel.com site, we collect your name, address, e-mail address, phone number and credit card number (with expiration date). We also may gather information on the person who will receive any gift you send (e.g., that person's name and address) and retain a record of your purchases.

  • We also may receive some information about you from other sources and may add it to your account information. For example, we might get your updated address from a shipper or information on your preferences from another website conducting a promotion or event with us.

  • When you request to be on our mailing list (for email or regular mail), we collect your name, address, email address and phone number.

  • When you enter a sweepstakes or contest on-line, we usually collect your name, address, email address and phone number. We also may ask you for additional information, such as your age, interests, product preferences or zip code.

However, we also want to assure you that the Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry has put in place various physical, electronic and managerial procedures to try to safeguard and secure the information we collect through online resources. What About Information About Children?
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act took effect on April 21, 2000 and imposes certain requirements on websites directed toward children under 13 that collect information on those children, or on web sites that know they are collecting information on children under the age of 13.
